Temporary email
A receiving address that expires after a set time, useful for a one-off signup, testing, or briefly receiving a verification code. TurboFwd provides an address as soon as you open the page. It’s valid for 3 hours by default, and you can extend it.
Once it expires, don’t count on receiving more email or use it as your only way to recover an account.
Disposable email
This term emphasizes using an address for a single purpose and then discarding it. These addresses are sometimes called 10-minute emails or throwaway emails. But “10 minutes” isn’t a standard: retention times vary by service.
Check the actual expiry time and whether it can be extended instead of relying on the name.
Anonymous email
Usually, this means an email address you can use without sharing your regular one. It can keep a website from getting your primary address directly, but it can’t guarantee complete anonymity online.
Your device, browser, or service logs may still link activity to you.
Forwarding alias
A separate public address that forwards incoming messages to your regular inbox. The sender sees only the alias, and you don’t need to manage a separate inbox for every website.
If you need to keep receiving order updates or account recovery emails, an alias is a better fit than a disposable address that’s about to expire.Learn how to set up an alias.
MX record
A domain’s mail-routing record tells sending systems where to find its mail server. If the address is correct but a verification email doesn’t arrive, the cause could be the sender’s policies, a delivery delay, or a network issue—not necessarily an MX problem.
You don’t need to change DNS for everyday use. First, make sure you copied the full address.
Verification email
A one-time code or link sent by a website to confirm you can access an address. Check the code’s own expiry time: it’s separate from how long a temporary inbox is available.
Don’t share verification codes with strangers. If one doesn’t arrive, wait for the inbox to refresh, then check that you entered the address correctly on the sender’s website.
