How Data Is Stored,
and When It’s Deleted

We handle temporary inboxes and long-term forwarding separately. Here’s what we collect, how long we keep it, and how you can manage your data.

Different data, different retention periods

The table below separates temporary inbox data from forwarding account data. Retention periods may vary for security investigations or legal requirements; we limit retention as much as possible.

Data Purpose Retention and deletion
Temporary address and received emails Display your inbox and let you read emails 3 hours by default; deleted on expiry or when you change the address
Login email and aliases Verify your identity and forward emails Kept while you use your account; forwarding stops when you delete an alias
Forwarding delivery records Show delivery status and troubleshoot failures Kept for up to 30 days; you can also delete them sooner
Essential security logs Prevent abuse, attacks, and unusual traffic Kept only as long as needed, then deleted

What information we process

When you open a temporary inbox, we generate a random address and access token, and process the emails sent to that address, including their contents, sender, and time received. The token is stored in your browser to restore the same inbox; knowing the address alone isn’t enough to read its emails.

When you create a long-term forwarding account, we process the personal email address you provide, login verification codes, the aliases you create, and delivery records. Forwarding requires us to read incoming emails and send them to your destination inbox. We don’t show your personal email address to anyone who writes to an alias.

Why we process this data

Processing is necessary to receive emails, display their contents, extend an inbox’s lifetime, and forward emails. Security logs help us prevent abuse, diagnose issues, and keep the service reliable. We don’t sell personal information.

Verification emails confirm that you control the destination inbox. We won’t use them to sign you up for marketing emails or sell your email address to advertisers.

Storage, security, and third parties

Data needed to run the service may be hosted by infrastructure providers, and is transmitted over HTTPS. We limit internal access and continually improve our safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Senders and destination email providers process emails independently. If you click an external link in an email, that website’s privacy policy applies. Don’t send bank credentials, identity documents, or highly sensitive information to a temporary inbox.

Your choices and requests

Delete individual emails or change your address in your inbox; disable or delete aliases and clear delivery records in your dashboard. Clearing browser storage removes the temporary inbox access token from that device, but doesn’t delete server data that’s still within its retention period.
