When to use a disposable email
When should you use a temporary email?
If you only need to receive one email, there’s no reason to hand over your personal address.
Gaming account sign-ups
Get verification codes for new accounts on platforms like Steam—without linking your main email to secondary or test accounts.
Downloads and installers
For white papers, templates, or trials that require an email to download—get what you need and move on.
Short-term trials
Try a service with a temporary inbox. If it’s not for you, the address expires automatically.
Development and email testing
Check sign-up flows, template rendering, and delivery times—and see how HTML emails really look.
What you can do with your inbox
See every email.Never miss a verification code.

Long-term forwarding
Need an inbox for the long term? Create a forwarding alias
Temporary email addresses expire after three hours. For accounts that need password recovery or long-term billing emails, use a TurboFwd alias: share an address like name@turbofwd.com and messages will be forwarded to your personal inbox. Disable the alias anytime.
-
Keep your personal email private
Senders see your alias, not your personal address.
-
Disable in one click
If an alias starts receiving spam, turn it off and the messages stop.
-
30-day forwarding history
Review the sender and delivery status of every forwarded email.
-
Two-factor authentication

Frequently asked questions
Temporary email FAQs: answers to common questions
What should I do if my temporary inbox doesn’t receive a verification code?
Wait a few seconds—the inbox refreshes automatically. If the code still doesn’t arrive, check that you pasted the full address. Some websites block disposable email domains. Try a different address or use a forwarding alias instead.
How long does the address last? What happens to emails when it expires?
Addresses are valid for 3 hours by default. Click “Extend” to keep yours longer. When it expires, the address and emails are permanently deleted and can’t be recovered. Don’t use a temporary address as the only email for an important account.
Can I use a temporary email to sign up for Steam?
Yes. You can receive Steam sign-up and login codes. Since gaming accounts may involve purchases and account recovery, we recommend using a forwarding alias for long-term access. See our guide to getting verification codes for gaming accounts.
Can anyone else see my inbox?
Your inbox can only be accessed with the credentials stored in this browser, and the address is randomly generated. Don’t use it for sensitive information such as banking or identity documents.
Is this the same as a 10-minute email or a virtual email address?
They’re all types of disposable email. The difference is how long the address lasts and whether you can extend it. TurboFwd addresses last 3 hours by default and can be extended, giving you more time than a 10-minute email.
